Ratatouille Multiplayer Mini Games on Wii?

Subject says it all, how do you activate the Multiplayer mini games from the "Extras" menu? I can access Gusteau's shop, single player mini games and Championships, but Multiplayer mini game option is greyed out - any idea how I would activate this? My daughter is hounding the living daylights out of me to play along :(
