Do college roommates always end up becoming your best friend?

i was a freshman in college last year, and i went pot luck with my roommate. we were total opposites and we didn't get along very well and she acted very immature, and we always tried to stay out of each others hair. at the end of the year, it was a little better, but after school ended ,we haven't spoken since. my brother had went pot luck his freshman year and his roommate turned out to be his best friend, and he is still rooming with him to this day. so it all just depends if you and your roommate are similar and are willing to share and just get along. i am going pot luck again this year, so hopefully it will turn out better! i hope this helped!
