wow. i just finished this book, and i Absolutely adored it. i understand the pain emily was going through (even though ive never experienced anything like she has). I understood how she loved chris, not in a pionate romantic way like he loved her. That's why having the baby scared her so much, she didn't want to marry chris. She loved him Absolutely, more then a brother but less then a romance. It was true love she had for him but not in the same way that chris loved her. That's why was also hard for emily (aside from the fact that she was molested). But that brings up another interesting thing that i noticed, chris brought a LOT of pain into Emily's life (not any where as near as how much love) but still a lot of pain was there. The sympathy pain that emily felt whenever chris hurt, chris's dare was the reason she was molested, chris was the reason she broke her leg, and chris was the reason that she committed suicide, because of his baby. Chris never understood that and im glad he didn't because it would've made him hurt even more. What were some of your thoughts on the book? i also found myself almost hating the character of Melanie Gold. I know it was unbearably hard to lose a child but turning on your best friend? and someone who is like a son to you? but i also found myself disliking emily at times, i believe she did commit suicide, chris did not kill her, even though he had to pull the trigger. It was like half of chris died when emily did because as it was mentioned so many times before emily and chris were two parts of the same whole. ya so anyway just leave a response, tell me how u felt about the book. it really interested me.

have you forgotten all the birds feeders people have with all kinds of seeds and nuts, corn, suet, bread and food scraps that are thrown out. Birds fly for miles to find food. At my feeders I have seen jays, crows, ravens, starlings, pigeons, and all the normal little birds. There are also many bushes that only produce their seeds in the winter. I have several in my yard as I am sure many people do. People live every where now if on the sides of mountains. They put out feeders.

you should buy at least a 20 gallon long aquarium. should be less than $30 at a petco or petsmart chain store. aeration is important but make sure the crayfish cannot climb the tubing and get out of the tank. get a good fitting lid with the aquarium.

since HS ive had a big group of friends that is very diverse, not ethnicity-wise but personality-wise. We are so different, people noone would ever imagine would hang out with each other, theres the president of the Christian Club, an Atheist artist, theres the over achiever thats n every club, the slacker that disappears for months at a time, etc but somehow, we all got along perfectly and is able to stay close friends. within that group tho, we sometimes have our own little cliques, the ones that get along better with each other. After HS tho my little group within the group moved away, everyone moved to a different town and i was left here.

Have you ever felt the power of these three at work in a particular situation? For example....I am Cancer Sun, Scorpio Moon, and Aquarius Rising. The Aquarius Rising will often get me to be much more outgoing and adventure seeking than I can handle. Once I see that I am in over my head, the Cancer Sun with all it's caution and fear of danger kicks in and I practically get paralyzed with fear for being out of my element and I am not always sure what to do. How to get DTS(-HD) thru HDMI on my Pioneer HTP-500 home theather system?

A brief lookup of the Pioneer system does not indicate that it speciffically decodes DTS-HD but DTS systems are backward compatible so It should, at least, decode DTS-ES from the HD bitstream. The HDMI connection is fine. You should set your BluRay player to "Raw" or enencoded bitstream. If set to "audio PCM", it is basically sending 2 channel audio to your reciever. The reciever might synthesize surround sound or play it out of all 5 speakers but it is not true surround...I don't know enough about your BluRay player, but if setting to "raw" doesn't show up at the reciever, you might try to connect audio via optical ot SPDIF cable, but HDMI should work.

I am a 18 year old senior kicker I would like to play at the next level of D1 College football however..?

I am having trouble with my kickoffs I can consistantly make field goals up to 55 yards and if I hit a good one I can hit 60 but my kickoffs are different on average my kickoffs will hit anywhere from 58 to 62 yards with no wind. Usualy a kicker will be able to kick his kickoffs approxamatley 15 to 20 yards further than his farthest place kick which would put me at 75 to 80 yard kickoffs which would greatly improve my chances of playing D1 college football please help if anyone has any ideas or advice it would be much appreciated!!!!!

I live in a neighborhood and seem to have what I think is an uncommon (by my experience) bird problem. Can not install LPT1 port Error code 10 device won't start?

Got a querky problem. I recently reinstalled Windows 2000 as a fix or repair of the OS over the existing OS. All files were saved. The only thing that did not work properly is the LPT1 port, so I can not print. I have tried looking for the registry keys for this item. I have tried i386 package .ini files in WINN folder. I have also tried the .ini files in system 32 in WINN folder. When I reinstall the driver, the final installation screen says installed a better driver. The LPT1 won't start error code 10 in the properties of LPT1 in Device Manager, and a yellow triangle with an exclamation point beside LPT1 in the DM. The driver installation wizard apparently finds another driver from somewhere and installs it over what is found in either of two folders system 32 or i386 .ini's is my opinion. Can you please help me?

Should I be worried about pneumonia in my cat?

I have two cats and for a week they were sneezing and had clear nasal discharge so I waited because I suspected it was an upper respiratory infection and needed to resolve itself. That was almost 2 weeks ago and one of my cats he coughed twice within those two weeks. And I got paranoid and now i'm obsessed with watching his breathing because i'm scared he got pneumonia. He keeps smelling things and when he smells I can hear him smelling (never used to). And whenever he sits he sits like a coughing cat (not sure how to explain that - anybody who has a cat with asthma knows what i'm talking about) My question is for those who have had a cat develop pneumonia, especially after a URI, do they act sick or normal? Are the symptoms very noticable. My cat eats normal, drinks, and plays but he did cough, and his breathing is different since the URI. I am the type of person who worries to much and I waste alot of time and money going to doctors for my cats or even myself because I think they have something serious and its usually nothing. Based on what you have said about the facts, the identification is about all she can attack you on as the police did the rest of the work in finding him. If anything you say on the stand in direct examination is different from anything you said before (no matter how slight it may seem), she will most likely ask about that as well. As I said, in a case like this, where much of the evidence leading to the guy came from the police investigation, she will most likely be going after them much stronger than she will after you. If she's smart, she will try to make your identification appear to be a honest mistake. . .at least that's what I would do.

I have a 1991 Ford Ranger 2.3 with a 5 speed and every now and then, usually just when the engine is cold, it shakes like crazy and barely stays running at idle (Sounds like it is missing almost). The "PIP" senor and EGR was just recently replaced. Let alone it has no power when it is doing the shaking thing and revs up real slow and barely drives. After the engine warms it kicks in with full power and drives like new. Thanks.

It's long but please read I need advice on a situation I am in with my uncles wife.?

As stated I have lived with them for about three months now and i was looking at schools here to attend but since i moved here in May it was for the January school semester since it was to late to apply for Sept. Anyway during my first few weeks here i had talked to both my uncle and his wife and told them I was willing to pay rent. My uncle of course said no way but my aunt being practical was like well not right now but I will talk to you in the future as to what we should do about it and I said fine no problem come talk to me when you feel that i should. On sat I had overheard her and my uncle arguing about me and at this time i was seriously considering a school i got wait listed for back home when my aunt told me my uncle wanted to talk to me outside i knew there was a problem but when i went to talk to him he looked so upset and said he didn't really want to get into, so i knew my aunt had put him up to this so at that moment i decided i should go home and thus told him so. I said i would leave in a week or two. The next day while my Uncle was sleeping my aunt proceeded to verbally attack me saying i was being ridiculous I was a liar and then when i told her i was leaving to go home she said good. After this first argument i went for a long walk as i was really upset and not sure what i had done to make her so mad at me. Upon returning home she said sit down i want to talk. she said i am pissed of at you, yesterday when we were friend's house to get your hair done that insulting remark you made about your uncle really pissed me off. Unsure of the remark i asked her what she meant and she proceeded to say that comment about the chicken. For the record here is exactly what i said to this women. Good Outside dogs?

I have a Husky, but I have to give her away because my mom is Allergic, and she has Asthma. But She said we could have a dog that didn't shed (very minuscule), and if it was an outside dog. During the school year, everyone will be gone for 6 hours a day, And my mom isn't a stay-at-home mom. Our Husky always howls and cries whenever we leave her outside for ever 30 min, and our neighbor has to come and take care of her when we are at Church. We have a very nice doghouse that is insulated, and has carpet, but our husky doesn't like doghouses. So it will be as good as new for the new dog. There is a fenced field behind my house, so it will get proper exercise, and I go hiking every saturday. Are there any dogs that will work for us? I dont know your fitness level, but im going to recommend some great lower body workouts that will firm your bum and build leg muscle(dont worry you wont look like a bodybuilder). First, Squats-they are amazing and thats the most effective exercise for your goals. If you can do weighted ones ,great , other wise you can still do the regular squats. Make sure you keep your back straight and squat away. Next is, if you can handle it is sprinting. A lot of people dont know this but sprinting will sculpt your lower body like no other exercise. Keep in mind it is hard work. For foods, stay away from junk food and drink lots of water. You dont want to gain fat. Hope this helped.

Does adding "Please" to an obnoxious proselytizing tract make it less so?

It is really a lazy form of "spreading the gospel". These tracts are not only put in mailboxes they are left on cars, driveways, places of employment, etc... I would really like to know how many people were "saved" because of a bible tract. My best guess is ZERO! I have been a waitress for 24 years and the "Sunday Crowd" really get under my skin. I am a Christian and I hate feeling this way towards fellow believers but they make it so easy to do. Except for a few rare exceptions these church-goers come into my restaurant wearing their Sunday finest, pray before their meals, are extremely demanding, and are the worst tippers. Here's my favorite (full sarcasm intended): I provide them with excellent service and food despite their rude behavior and I am left a fake $100 bill with a bible tract on the back. The tract is left with a) no tip or b) a very small tip. I believe most Americans realize by now that tips are the whole income for a server. By not leaving a tip or short changing my tip you are basically taking food away from my family. Would you pay your car mechanic with a bible tract? Jesus spoke about such people in the bible. I am paraphrasing but it goes something like this: When you see your brother in need and say I will pray for you and do nothing to help this person, you are actually doing nothing for the Kingdom of God. When you hand out bible tracts instead of actually doing something that will affect people in a positive way, you are doing nothing. Them leaving bible tracts on my table are offensive as well. It pre-supposes that I am in need of salvation and the people handing these tracts out seem to think that they are in a higher position than others by the mere fact of their church attendance. I prefer to call things the way they really are. These people are just arrogant and cheap and I'm sure God doesn't need anymore people embarring His name.

Strain? Severe pain in the right calves/ back shin

I bike too and I am also having this problem. My eventually lead to heal pain which is when I went to the doctor. I had to stop biking awhile and go to physical therapy. They are maging my calf three times per week because I have a knot or trigger point in my calf. The PT said that it was caused by my calf not relaxing itself enough after I rode. If you can not get to a PT then get someone else to give you a deep mage on the affected calf concentrate on any spots you feel knots. Also use heat unless it is swollen. They to rest it and it will feel better soon.

The next day though I find out that my neighbor has $100 that he said he so happened to find in his "safety vault" that he forgot about. His friends said he wasn't the type so I wasn't so worried. However, I decided to start leaving my wallet at home so that i wouldn't risk theft again. It's been a couple months now and I spend time with this guy everyday. Last weekend I was at a friends house and a lot of people were there and I left my wallet sitting on the coffee table. When I left, I unzipped my wallet just to make sure my $50 dollars was still in it. It was. That night I spent the night w/ my neighbor and he awoke at 6am because he couldn't sleep. He continued doing stuff that morning while I slept, my wallet was in my room across the hall from him in the apartment complex that we live in and my door was unlocked. The next day all of my money was gone. A couple days later we went in on food together but I told him I only had a $20 bill and that I'd have to pay him back later. He said that was fine but the next day my $20 bill was gone. I went out with him a few nights later and we decided to go in on a case of beer, he didn't have any money so he told me he'd pay me ten when he cashed his last paycheck. We got back to his place and i left my wallet in his kitchen - I'm almost positive of this. I started to fall asleep on his couch and he told me to go to sleep so I wouldn't be uncomfortable and I sleepily stumbled across the hall to my room with out grabbing anything. I worked a double that day and I asked him if he could give me a ride to work in the morning. About an hour after I got to work I realized that I was pretty sure I had left my wallet at his place and started to panic a little because I was getting suspicious. I got home at night and immediately knocked on his door to see if my wallet was in there. He said he hadn't seen it and cheerfully got up to help me find it. Of course there was no luck and I couldn't find it anywhere in my apartment either. I called one of his former roommates who is a mutual friend of ours and he told me that he had never taken money from him but that he had seen things go missing and that he refused to pay certain bills. I know that the details seem pretty incriminating but after spending so much time with him everyday for four months I believed that I could trust him and I don't want to confront him if he's not the thief because I don't want to ruin our friendship. I really need some advice here, what should I do???

Moms of older babies - do you ever feel like this?

I can honestly say without hesitation that when my firstborn, my daughter, was born it was the happiest time of my life. The world seemed to GLOW! She is almost 20 months old now and I find myself thinking back a lot and reminiscing but it makes me sad - that it went by so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was holding her, a tiny newborn, in my arms and now she's running around, talking, ''reading'' books and just growing up so fast! I also had my son back in October (they are less then 12 months apart) and time seems to be flying by faster then ever. Anyone else ever feel kind of sad and nostaligic about those early days and months of their first baby?

Most cost efficiant ways to make a home more valuable while living there?

I live in a fairly spacious two bed, two bath, upstairs condo with a porch, but plan on having another kid in a few years so I will need to be able to sell this place, and I would love to both make it a better experience while I'm here, and worth more money. Currently, I have light baise-ish carpets in the bedrooms and living room and up the stairs, linoleum floors, stark white cabinets that look unfinished (I need to ad hardware, thats cheap enough) double sinks in the bathroom with a large mirror and no room for cabinets/storage, no shelving in the to-small laundry room, and ugly light fictures/fans all around. One thing I KNOW I'm doing is getting film to put over the windows to block UV and lower utility costs, but other then that which things will I be able to do while still here, which will reap the most profit, and which wont make much difference? Why does my friend annoy me this much?

Okay, my friend is PERFECT. By 'perfect,' I mean she holds the door open for LINES of people that she doesn't know. She talks about how other people should not wear makeup and be confident. She keeps telling me that I will be beautiful in my Dad's wedding no matter what (like that will calm my stress). She frets about day-old blood on the bathroom towel dispenser and how it might infect our school with AIDS. She says, 'Thank you, hope you have a nice day,' to EVERYONE she walks away from. ARRRRRGGGGGH! And I'm not exaggerating. I've asked her about these habits before, and she admits that she follows these regiments TO THE DOT. Maybe I'm annoyed with her just because she's been staying in my house for a week and a half, and I'm getting territorial. Even though I've been told I have a bleeding heart, maybe I'm annoyed with her because she still reminds me of the better person I could be. Maybe I'm annoyed with her because she talks to me too much (even though I'm introverted, I need quiet, I've repeatedly told her so, and she hasn't made much of an effort to cork it), and I'm just projecting that annoyance onto her other habits. Maybe I'm annoyed because her loudness (she's loud by nature) and my Dad's silence (he's introverted like me) heads, and I'm naturally apt to take his side. I don't know. I wanted a least a second opinion to help me figure this out.

Is my occasional facial swelling really a food allergy?

For about 6 months I've had occasional facial swelling.....my face will be fine for about a week, sometimes two weeks and then out of nowhere my face will start to look very puffy and basically swollen.....I've had no less than 3 blood tests in the past 6 months....blood work is always fine....because my symptoms come and go the drs. are pretty sure it's some sort of food allergy or delayed food reaction....whereas if it were a thyroid problem, my face would just remain swollen.....so...has anyone ever experienced anything similar to this....I have an appt. w/ an allergist next week,,,,thanks in advance.

Why do we need friends?

Why do people need friends? Friends will always be nice in simple problems and allow you to have some of their cookies or give you advice on how to do a manicure but when a big problem arises friends will just do what benefits them - that is just human nature to think of yourself before others! If both of you were stuck in a faraway country and both urgently needed to get home but only had 1 plane ticket between you the friend would try to take that ticket herself and wouldn't offer it to you. Or if you both had an important exam coming up and you needed her help she would revise to get an A+ rather than an A (without revision she would get A, with revision she would get A+) rather than helping you even though you missed half of the term because you were ill and without her help you would not ge higher than a C. Whereas family members like cousins or sisters are always there to help you. They won't put their own needs bscore your own, they will consider both equally. Basicaly, what I am saying is, why do we need any other friends other than family members? Non family will be there to share happy times with you but when there is a big problem they will only think about themselves. Just from a psychological point of view - it is human nature to put yourself before others but not family.

I'm really concerned about my cats...?

Well I'm only 15, and my family and I went to Disney World to visit my cousins for 5 days (and to relax of course). But my parents (who are cheap) refused to really send our cats to like an "animal hotel" or anything like that. Well, it's not that they are totally cheap, they just didn't have the money. So anyways, we left the cats alone in our house. It was very open and free so they could roam around and what not. We also made sure that they had enough food. The only problem is that they both love to be outdoors at least some times. And a few weeks ago, part of our back gl door (one behind actual back door) got smashed in by a baseball. So my dad decided to just put a piece of saran wrap over it to make sure that it stayed okay until we could get it fixed. It worked fine and everything, but like I said, my cat like to go outdoors, and because we weren't home, one of them (or both) got very angry. This is what we are uming, but we think that one of the cats went crazy trying to get out, because as soon as we returned home, the saran wrap was completely torn through. Also, some pieces of gl that had been cracked were now missing and the hole was a little bigger. We were pretty concerned when we saw this. We looked around the house and realized that pieces of the gl were tered throughout. I'm very worried that one of the cats may be hurt, or something in that matter. They definitely seem a little weird and confused, but I'm not sure whether or not that's because they haven't seen us in a while or not. Neither one of them seem to be in much pain, but I don't know what to do. My parents are convinced nothing is wrong, but I don't know! What should I do?

Hot water heaters burner only kicks on when i turn the tempeture dial up by hand.?

burner quit turning on by itself. If i wash clothes & use up the hot water it wont kick on. but if i turn the temp. control knob up a little bit it kicks on then i turn it back down to hot it stays on until the next time i use the hot water up a little. I'm a Rangers fan also, but I don't entirely agree. Drury is good and I don't think you want to trade him. I feel that the Rangers need more experienced players....they are a young team, but if you look at Detroit Red Wings, most of their players are experienced in their thirties rather than the twenties. I do agree for trading some free agents though, just don't get rid of Drury...he has good leadership capabilities. I was throughly mad that they didn't sign Shanahan again, but oh well. I hope for the best next season, though, damn Capitals....

God doesn't enjoy or find pleasure in disciplining His children. Not one of us that has children will allow them to do wrong and not discipline them. This doesn't mean we find any form of pleasure in it. Punishment is a way of trying to correct what is wrong and try to get us on the right path. That is all God is doing when he allows us to suffer our mistakes.
