With all the corruption in the Government . . . ?

Why is the media still reporting on jobs and best places to groom your pets? You would think they would be making a killing w/ all the secrecy and scandal, but I guess Ellen's new diet is more important? Why has the media, the people who's job it used to be to reveal corruption, graciously accepted their new role as the new big distraction?
