Why is the GOP so fixated on Letterman, when he was obviously referring to Palin's ually active of-age kid?

he never mentioned a 14 year old, nor the word in his joke, and that's all what i see from the rabid right wingers, blowing something kind of distasteful into something completely different, making him out to be a pedophile improperly. If Palin's of-age daughter followed her mother's positions, meaning staying celibate, do you think that bad joke would have ever been written? i think not.
